Be the change
you want to see in the world.

I'd like to see more kindness, joy, and magic,

and this is reflected in the uplifting experiences

I create in all areas of my life.

In a pink coat and with a white and pink umbrella, I stand next to a snowman version of Totoro I made who's taller than me.

It's been a squiggly career,
full of growth.

Trained in art & animation.

Pixel artist at 4J Studios for Minecraft.

European community manager for Unreal Engine.

Technical designer at Rare and Improbable.

My path through each of these disciplines has grown me as a developer.

As a community manager I learnt...

- To change my language to suit differing levels of expertise.

- To speak in front of any size of group with confidence.

- How to manage expectations and commitments.

As a designer I learnt...

- To empower the team's creativity through a clear vision.

- To constantly challenge my own assumptions.

- Real life experience is the best inspiration.

As a pixel artist I learnt...

- To take a step back and see how my part fits with-in the bigger picture.

- To give something the right amount of detail.

- Good tooling saves much time and pain.

As an animator I learnt...

- To give movement weight, grace, and impact.

- To telegraph cues and hints to players.

- The importance of timing and pacing.

I give a talk in front of a packed audience at the Game Development Society.
A poster on a pinboard of my talk at SAE university.
Madame Olive from Sea of Thieves swigs from a bottle, as the reference footage of me doing the same in real life is shown in the corner.
My avatar likeness in Minecraft.
Myself and fellow community manager Alex smile at the camera as we get ready for interviewing the next developers on the Unreal Engine booth at GDC.

Many people reached out a helping hand when I first started,
now I pay it forward.

I give a talk to a crowd at EGX Rezzed as part of the UKIE careers booth.
